Advanced Manufacturing Sciences, B.S. with Mechanical Engineering Technology Concentration

Mechanical engineers play an important role in the automotive, aerospace, biotechnology, computer and electronics, automation, and manufacturing industries. They design, develop, build, and test all sorts of mechanical devices, tools, engines and machines. Mechanical engineering combines engineering physics and mathematics principles with materials science to design, analyze, manufacture, and maintain mechanical systems. It is one of the oldest and broadest of the engineering branches.

Mechanical Engineering Technology is the application of engineering principles and technological developments for the creation of useful products and production machinery.

The Mechanical Engineering Concentration provides practice in the ability to improve integrated systems, optimize manufacturing processes, adopt state-of-the-art materials, and produce superior quality products at minimal cost. Coursework provides students an opportunity to understand the operation and function of more complex technologies used in manufacturing.
